I am interested in humans, our relationships and interactions with each other and our environment. I love hearing what people dream, worry and care about and I translate these insights into better products and services for everyone.

ABOUT

I studied graphic and communication design with a strong focus on book and editorial design. My graduation project, which was a book about my family, written by my grandmother and me, received multiple design awards and is now part of the book collection in several design museums around the world, including the Printing Museum in Tokyo.

I ended up in digital product design out of sheer curiosity that followed after an encounter with a product designer at IDEO. One thing led to another and over the course of the past 5 years I have worked with multiple start ups big and small and a big variety of industries and areas from fintech to femtech.

When I am not chatting to strangers, I can usually be found on two wheels exploring the countryside, in a sleeping bag underneath a tree or on a yoga mat.

My aim is to make a research based design process the norm.

All of my work is strongly rooted in research and data. I examine audiences, environments, economic and social systems by applying both quantitative as well as qualitative research methods. I believe that democratised research insights should get utilised in every area, team or aspect of a company. I educate and train teams so they can get closer to the actual humans that engage with or are impacted by the product or service.

A word on sustainability

It is a broad term but one that I am deeply invested in. Personally as well as professionally. More than 3 years ago I co-founded And The Future? – a community focused on empowering everyday activists. Together with Tash Fanshawe, we promote mindfulness, minimalism and activism through a monthly bookclub, digital bootcamps and a monthly blog and newsletter.
